ARL Formula Vee Championship
The Formula Vee single seater joined the iRacing service in June, becoming one of the rookie cars on iRacing due to its ease of use. This light, 1200cc machine is super nimble, making it a joy to drive, and due to its heavy draft effect, racing is usually very intense. A fixed set up will be used for each round, making the series particularly accessible to inexperienced drivers and those who don’t have time to develop a setup themselves.
Whilst the car is simple, the format is anything but. At each meeting, a 10 minute qualifying precedes 3 races, each lasting 15 minutes. The second and third races have a randomly decided reverse grid, which can range from 10 to 16 positions, making racecraft paramount to score strong points.
The schedule for this season consists of many technical circuits in order to make the most of the Formula Vee’s handling characteristics. 5 of the 8 tracks are part of the iRacing base content, so drivers who haven’t yet bought many circuits can still take part.
