ARA Formula Renault 2.0 Championship
Similar to the popular ARA F3 series, each round features a 10 minute open qualifying, followed by 2 or 3 sprint races, some of which being reverse grids. Whilst the series is open setup, every driver gets a free one month Apex Racing Academy subscription, granting them access to FR2.0 datapacks produced by world championship driver Peter Berryman which are of great use this championship along with the official series, as each round copies the official series schedule.
Saturday nights are Formula Renault nights on Apex Racing TV as qualifying for this series goes live at 19:00 GMT, just a couple of hours before the Formula Renault 3.5 official series, making it an awesome evening of single seater racing. SDK Gaming’s amazing Formula Renault overlay will be used on the broadcast, making the series look just like the real life championship from years ago.
The Formula Renault 2.0 made its debut on iRacing in 2016, becoming the biggest junior formula car on the service for several years. Whilst the car’s significance has decreased since the launch of the Dallara F3, Indy light cars and the Formula Renault 3.5, the car is still one of the best single seaters on iRacing thanks to its extremely light weight at just 506 kg making it remarkably grippy round corners.
