ARA F4 Championship
Our elimination format returns again, albeit with some tweaks. After a 10 minute qualifying, the field is split into two, with half the entrants racing in one 10 minute heat and the other half racing in another 10 minute heat. The top drivers from each heat move straight into the A final, whilst the others have to fight for the top places in the B final to get to the A final. This format has been found to significantly improve the quality of racing in the ARA F3 VRS Super Series due to the limited number of drivers on track at any time. It also ensures all drivers are fighting over crucial positions in their bid to reach the A final, which is always great viewing on the broadcast.
A Formula 4 car has been in high demand for a long time on sim with iRacing finally delivering the Formula iR-04 machine at the start of the 2022 season 2 build. An amalgamation of several Formula 4 regulations from around the world, the car weighs 570kg and its 2 litre V4 engine produces 160 horsepower. Every driver who signs up gets a one month bronze ARA subscription, which grants them setups and track guides for the official series tracks, making this a brilliant series for those starting the single seater racing ladder.
As has been the case with our other series, there will be three driver classes for this season provided we have our expected 40+ sign ups. This is the first season of the ARA F4 Championship, so there are limited results to judge what will occur this season, however should he race, Tobias Olsson, who has won the past two Formula 3 titles in ARL will be the favourite aking with his Alkentech NHR teammates. Whoever does come out on top in each championship will get their hands on a trophy and a 1 year ARA subscription!
