ARL GT3 Trophy
It’s back! The ARL GT3 Trophy returns on the 25th of November for a 12 round season spanning into March 2023. For the first time, our premier GT championship will be broadcast live in the ARTV studio, providing unmatched coverage of this established series.
Efforts to improve this series never slow. After receiving positive feedback about our double race format, we have increased the number of meetings it is used at to 5, joining 6 classic 1 hour length races. That leaves one other meeting, which will host our first 90 minute special event! This is held at Daytona a day prior to iRacing’s Daytona 24 Hours.
Apex Racing TV have done a brilliant job of covering all 7 past GT/GT3 Trophy seasons, but this season their coverage is taken to the next level. Sam Fitzpatrick and Tim Cox will be presenting each round’s action live from the Apex Racing TV Esports Studio, using the industry-leading setup to deliver unmatched broadcasting of the championship with pre race build-up and interviews being done on camera. We have aimed to include the best circuits in the world on this season’s schedule. Whilst some tracks match the iRacing official series and special events (Daytona and Bathurst), our main focus has been to include the best circuits on iRacing, ranging from the legends of Spa, Monza, and Suzuka to the American endurance classics of Sebring, Road Atlanta and Indianapolis as well as throwing in the to-be-released Magny-Cours track, a venue that will unquestionably become a fan favourite when added to the sim.
It was a no-brainer to stick with the GT3 cars, the most popular machinery in the sim. The line-up is the same as season 4, although should new vehicles be released in the 2023 S1 build, drivers will have the opportunity to change machinery. In a change from the 7 past GT/GT3 Trophy seasons, meetings now hosted on Friday evenings, albeit with the same 20:00 GMT qualifying start time
We have 3 drivers once again, pro, pro-am and am, which drivers are assigned to based on their iRating, iRacing experience and past ARL results. Each of these classes are up for the same prizes, which total up across the 3 driver classes and overall teams championship to £1480 in worth in the form of SDK and Apex Racing Academy subscriptions. Trophies are also awarded to the champion in each driver class!
