ARA Porsche Cup
ARA Porsche Cup returns with a 6 round series perfect for those going for pro in the PESC Qualifiers series but also Cup car fans looking for an competitive series to race in. The series kicks off on Wednesday the 10th of July, features pro, pro am and am divisions and is broadcast by Apex Racing TV!
Anyone with a D license on iRacing is welcome to join the series and is likely to find several drivers to race against in our bumper 60 car field. However, following the PESC Qualifiers series the championship is perfect for those looking to practice their racecraft against similarly matched opponents in a competitive environment.
To match the PESC Qualifiers, qualifying lasts just 8 minutes with a maximum of 2 laps being set. Besides that however the format is the same as last season, with 2 heats, a B Final and A Final. The top drivers from the 2 heats advance straight to the A Final with the rest going to the B Final. The top drivers from the B Final also get a spot in the A Final where the biggest points haul can be earned.
Philipp Hammer became the first driver to win an ARL title after missing the opening 2 rounds of a season a few months ago to clinch the season 10 title. The former pro-am victor won 8 of the 10 meetings he raced to beat out Kory Lazarus and Ylan Destraz. Ben Pederson meanwhile defeated his fellow Aussie, Luke Swan, for the am title and SimRace Sweden came from behind to win in the teams
To help drivers get up to pace in the car, drivers receive a free 1 month subscription to Apex Racing Academy when they register for the series gaining access to setups and datapacks from PESC race winner and former driver in the series, Luke McKeown. As is the case for every ARL series, stewards review incidents post race to ensure unfair driving standards are penalised. Every round of the series is broadcast on Apex Racing TV’s YouTube channel with their SDK Gaming overlay and live timing, 3D track maps and post race interviews.
£650 worth of ARA subscriptions are on offer to the top drivers and teams with each division champion receiving a 1 year silver sub! Trophies are also sent to each of the driver champions.
As long as you have a D class sports cars or formula license, you can register to the series. So get your name down now to get a place on the grid!
