RACEDATA AI ARL Prototype Championship
GTPs and LMP2s return for the ninth season of the ARL Prototype Championship, this season sponsored by RACEDATA AI! £250 of prize money is up for grabs in each of the GTP Pro, GTP Am, LMP2 Pro and LMP2 Am divisions as well as a further £2,000+ worth of RACEDATA AI subscriptions.
Races this season are on Monday evenings from 20:00 GMT with a 20 minute open qualifying preceding either a 60 or 75 minute race, mandating a pitstop for fuel (and optionally tyres). Drivers in each car class are divided into 2 divisions, pro and am, with £250 being won by each of the 4 champions. This is the first season with the new Ferrari 499P, a fan favourite from WEC!
Monza opens the season before the series heads to the legendary Le Mans circuit for an extended 75 minute event. After the iRacing week 13 break, the series heads to Sebring for round 5, a couple of days after iRacing’s Sebring 12 hours. Long Beach will make make it’s debut in round 8 while the season finale is currently unknown due to the official series week not yet being confirmed. Each round matches the IMSA Sportscar official series track so that drivers have experience on the circuit and setups ready before racing.
Rain is threat at each round. iRacing’s weather generator takes into consideration the location of the circuit and time of year to decide the weather, making the likelihood of rain similar to real life. Drivers are notified about the forecast a week before each round to give them a chance to practice in the likely (although not certain) conditions.
This season of the championship is sponsored by RACEDATA AI – a user-friendly telemetry tool that helps simracers improve their performance. It provides clear and simple insights into driving data, making it easy to spot mistakes and areas for improvement and get faster on the track. All drivers receive a free 3 month RACEDATA AI Racer Master subscription just for registering for the series, with additional subscriptions being awarded for fastest laps at each round as well as for the best overtakes, saves and fewest incidents across the season.
Norbert Tamas dominated the GTP Pro championship last season, scoring wins in 5 of the 9 rounds he contested and Henning Schwebig delivered exceptional consistency to win the GTP Ams. Alexandre Deletraz barely edged out his teammate, Augustin Bernier, for the LMP2 title, needing to win the final round. Clément Quer won the LMP2 Ams meanwhile in his debut season with 4 wins across the season.
Every round of the series is broadcast on Apex Racing TV’s YouTube channel, covering qualifying as well as the race with their SDK Gaming overlay and live timing, 3D track maps and interview drivers post race.
