ARA Skip Barber Championship
The Apex Racing League brings you a brand new series… the car of choice – the Skip Barber Formula 2000! The inaugural season of the ARA Skip Barber Championship comes to ARL on 20th October! The new season will run across 9 meetings, each consisting of three 15 minute races.
One of the most basic, but purest racing cars in existence, the Skip Barber Formula 2000 offers drivers the chance both to learn the dynamics of an uncompromised racing car and how to compete with other drivers in identical equipment – lessons that are applicable in any car on any race track in the world.
The series is accessible to everyone, with open setups being used and an amateur drivers championship to be fought, meaning everyone can fight for the prizes worth almost £900.00 in value, including trophies and subscriptions to SDK Gaming and Apex Racing Academy.
All the action will be live on Apex Racing TV. The Skip Barber is one of the best cars to battle in, with side by side action possible at every turn and a relatively even playing field due to the simplicity of the machine. Race 2 and 3 of each evening are reverse grids, meaning overtaking and surprise winners are rife!
The Skip Barber Formula 2000 was originally the first step into the world of single seaters but is now its own path of choice in the single seater world and is the next step up from the Formula Vee. Despite being at home on tight circuits, visiting venues such as Red Bull Ring and Hungaroring will enable thrilling draft races that will only be decided once the chequered flag falls.
