ARL Roar Before The 24
ARL are hosting a free-to-enter event on the 9th of January to help you prepare for iRacing’s Daytona 24! Register in either the Hypercar, LMP2 or GTD classes for 2.4 hours of racing – all of which is broadcast from the Apex Racing TV Esports Studio!
We are limiting each class to 18 drivers (to roughly match the 24 hours) – if we get more than 18 entries in a class, pre-qualifying will be used to find the fastest 18 drivers to race in top split. If you miss the cut, you’ll still be able to race in second (or maybe even third) split with drivers of a similar pace to yourself.
The evening begins with a 120 minute practice and 10 minute lone qualifying, where the drivers can set a maximum of 2 laps. The race lasts 144 minutes, long enough for the sun to set and the circuit plunge into darkness. There are no fuel or tyre restrictions to match the 24 hours and the chance of rain is set to ‘unlikley’ (approximately 15%).
Live stewards will be reviewing incidents during the race, distributing stop and holds, drive throughs or post race time penalties for anyone who is found at fault for an incident.
Apex Racing TV are streaming the top split race from their Esports Studio live on their YouTube channel, with Sam Fitzpatrick and David Sampson (Sampsoid) presenting the action with their SDK Gaming overlay and live timing, 3D track maps. Interviews with the drivers are hosted post race.
Drivers just need a sports car or formula license with an iRating above 1000 to race in the LMP2 or GTD classes and 1400 to take part in the Hypercars. This is one of the few events we host which is free to enter, so a great chance to dip your toe into ARL racing. Register using the links below!
