ARA F4 Championship
Our elimination heat format has continued to produce great racing in our recent F3 and F4 championships. Each race meeting consists of 2 heats, with half the field in each; a B final, for those who miss out on advancing to the A final and finally the A final itself, which reserves a handful of places for the top positions form the B final as well as the top drivers from the heats. The format limits the maximum drivers on track to just 30, reducing the risk of large incidents and building up the event to the all important A final. The desperation of the pros to avoid an upset by missing out on the A final and the ambition of the ams to secure a spot in the pivotal finale makes for some of our most dramatic racing.
As is the case in all our Apex Racing Academy series, the schedule follows the iRacing official series. This season features some high speed draft tracks such as Road America, Fuji and Monza; technical drivers tracks – VIR, Montreal and Long Beach along with ARL’s first ever visit to the service’s Norwegian venue, Rudskogen
The Formula iR-04 has become one of iRacing’s most popular cars since it’s introduction 11 months ago. An amalgamation of several Formula 4 regulations from around the world, the car weighs 570kg and its 2 litre V4 engine produces 160 horsepower. Every driver who signs up gets a one month bronze ARA subscription, which grants them setups and track guides for the official series tracks, making this a brilliant series for those starting the single seater racing ladder.
Will Redford dominated last season, setting a record of 10 consecutive race wins to start the season, claiming his second ARL title. He wasn’t the only champion however due to our pro am and am championships, enabling everyone to compete for a title against similarly paced opponents. Sára Mühlfeitová took the pro am title on debut, Phillip Russell secured the ams and Alkentech snatched the teams on the season finale. Each driver championship victor get their hands on a trophy and a 1 year ARA Gold subscription, whilst the teams champions get a choice of a ARA silver or SDK Gaming silver team subscription!
