ARA Porsche Cup

Looking for competitive racing, using an alternative race format in iRacing’s Porsche Cup car? The ARA Porsche Cup is here to provide just that! Our new 8 round season kicks off on Tuesday the 14th of January, features pro, pro-am and am driver divisions and is broadcast by Apex Racing TV!

We will return to following the official series schedule this season to give every driver a full week of racing in the officials to prepare for every round. Like most drivers, we enjoy Long Beach, however it is not the safest place for a season opener (as we learned in season 2), so we swap in Road Atlanta which is also visited by the officials. After many visits to other US circuits, the series rounds off at a classic title-decider circuit, Suzuka.

6 rounds feature our elimination heat format. These consist of 2 heats with half the drivers in each, followed by a B final for those who fail to finish in the top 12 in their heat. The A final is for the top 12 from each heat as well as the top 6 from the B final. There are 3 driver divisions in the series, however points are awarded for a driver’s overall position, meaning every place counts!

For the first time in the series, rain will be a risk at every round. iRacing’s weather generator takes into consideration the location of the circuit and time of year to decide the weather, making the likelihood of rain similar to real life. Drivers are notified about the forecast a week before each round to give them a chance to practice in the likely (although not certain) conditions.

Dalton Zavadil became the 11th unique pro champion in the series in last season’s abbreviated schedule. Jan Böhl won the pro-ams, finishing on the podium at every round, Luke Swan edged out the ams over Enzo Lorenzato by just 7 points while Philipp Hammer (who was also attempting back-to-back pro title) and Pascal Costa dominated the teams title for Impulse Racing.

To help drivers get up to pace in the car, drivers receive a free 1 month subscription to Apex Racing Academy when they register for the series gaining access to setups and datapacks from PESC race winner and former driver in the series, Luke McKeown. As is the case for every ARL series, stewards review incidents post race to ensure unfair driving standards are penalised. Every round of the series is broadcast on Apex Racing TV’s YouTube channel with their SDK Gaming overlay and live timing, 3D track maps and post race interviews.

£650 worth of ARA subscriptions are on offer to the top drivers and teams with each division champion receiving a 1 year silver sub! Trophies are also sent to each of the driver champions.
