This is the first season of the Apex Racing League Prototype Championship! This series features the Porsche 919 and Audi R18 P1 cars along with the Dallara P217. We will be visiting 6 classic venues in Europe and North America, largely matching the IMSA Sports car series and European Sprint Series schedules. Each meeting will consist of a 60 minute race, meaning pitstops will be necessary for everyone. All drivers will have a title to fight for, with an amateur and teams championship to be decided in both classes.
The top drivers and teams from each championship will also receive a total of over £500 in SDK Gaming and Apex Racing Academy subscriptions. Trophies will be awarded to the top drivers in each drivers championship as well!
The P1 and P2 cars are classic multiclass endurance machines, racing in the WEC for many seasons. Whilst this series will also be multiclass, an absence of GT cars will make a big difference to the racing, with absolute pace more pivotal than ever. We are looking forward to visiting some classic race tracks, 4 of which are on the current WEC calendar.
