Last week in the Apex Racing League paddock

w/c 24TH May 2021

Motegi at midnight, a Laguna Seca desert duel, a Hockenheim hullabaloo and a Mulsanne melee highlighted a thrilling week across the Apex Racing League paddock. Although four race meetings is considered a quiet week by ARL standards, viewers on Apex Racing TV certainly weren’t short changed on action and drama.

Here is a recap of all of last weeks action

Apex Racing League GT Trophy

ARL action kicked off on Tuesday with round two of the ARL GT Trophy. Gaetan Anger arrived at Hockenheim keen to reassert his authority after a dominant win from Amaury Bonduel at Monza. Although Bonduel didn’t feature in the struggle for the win, Bonduel’s teammate Kenny Roosens took up the mantle for Valkyrie Esports. Between Roosens, Bonduel and others, Gaetan Anger will have his hands full to defend the ARL GT Trophy.

Apex Racing Academy Porsche Cup

A familiar challenger emerged to contest the supremacy of Josh Thompson in the ARA Porsche Cup. Reigning vice-champion, Pascal Costa, took the fight to the mighty Manxman. Posing a serious threat to the Williams Esports superstar, Costa’s qualifying and heat race pace was blistering. Thus, setting up a thrilling feature race showdown for viewers on Apex Racing TV. Find out how they fared in the baking hot Californian sun via on demand coverage on Apex Racing TV.

Apex Racing League Touring Car Championship

A seemingly bizarre combination of the Le Circuit de la Sarthe and touring cars created an unlikely recipe for a tense penultimate round of ARLTC. George Simmons continued his miraculous late season resurgence with his best meeting of the season. Defending champion and championship leader, heads to Montreal for the season finale with a worryingly thin margin. The season finale at Montreal must not be missed! Tune in to Apex Racing TV at 7pm GMT on the 3rd of June to find out who will be crowned ARLTC champion.

Wave Italy ARL Prototype Championship

Held under the blanket of darkness, drivers grappled with the technical layout of the Twin Ring Motegi in Japan. In all three classes, dominant drivers continue to assert themselves. However, missed rounds push these race winners down the championship order. Can the Wave Italy ARL Prototype latecomers catch the championship regulars by season’s end?

New League Announcements

First Season of the ARL Gauntlet

Apex Racing League are excited to launch an innovative new series, like nothing we have hosted before. The ARL Gauntlet will feature 4 rounds, each with a random car / track combination, which is announced only minutes before practice!

The series is ideal for drivers who have limited practice time during the week, as no one will know what track and car will be used for each round. There is also no set up work, as a fixed set will be used. Don’t worry about not owning enough content to race in the series, as we will be using free cars and either free, or commonly owned tracks so anyone should be able to race in every round.
