ARL GT Championship Season 6
GTEs are back in Apex Racing League. Season 6 of the ARL GT Championship is set to launch on the 30th of January. With 3 driver divisions, new race formats and 9 race meetings, the season is set to be the best yet!
All 5 of the GTE cars are back for a new season, however the series has a variety of race formats for the first time in its history. Along with the classic 25 and 40 minute races, four rounds of the season will have a single 80 minute race, excitingly with the top 10 inverted from the qualifying results. In this new format drivers will earn points for the qualifying position, the first time such a system has been used in ARL. Qualifying for each round will once again launch at 20:00 GMT on Sundays and be broadcast by Apex Racing TV!
With the European Sprint Series becoming the sole GTE iRacing official series, every round of the ARL GT series now follows the ESS schedule, giving drivers 6 days of practice before each round. We also expect the Sebring round to be a great prep for the 12 hours a week later.
This is ARL’s oldest series, debuting in the summer of 2019 as the British GT championship, using the 911 cup car and GT3 machinery. Since then, there have been 60 race meetings across American GT, Team GT and 5 seasons of the GT Championship. Tom McMahon is a three time champion, but in the past two seasons it has been the Urano eSports driver, Niclas Laubisch, who has come away with the title. The amateur championship is always super competitive, with Chris Van De Nesse clinching it last season, although this season will be slightly different with 3 classes guaranteeing more drivers than ever to be battling for a title!
