ARL Touring Car Britain 2025 is set to be one of our biggest series ever! Following the real-life BTCC calendar from April into October, as well as incorporating many format elements from the series, the championship is one of the best in simracing for touring car fans.
2 factors made this a feasible series for 2025. One was the addition of Thruxton to iRacing, the fastest track in the UK and a stalwart of the BTCC. With Croft also being scanned by iRacing, there is a chance we may have a full roster of circuits this season. The other factor is a necessity for any UK-based championship – rain! This will be generated by iRacing before each round, taking into consideration the climate of the circuit and the time of year. Drivers are sent the forecast a week before each round, guiding them on what conditions they should practice in.
Drivers compete in one of 3 driver divisions, pro, pro am or am and earn prizes for their championship position in each. Rounds are held on the Thursday before each real life event, feature a 30 minute qualifying and three 20 minute races, the last of which has a reverse grid of between 6 and 12 positions (just like the BTCC). To match the real life series, bonus points are awarded for pole positions, fastest laps and for leading a lap during a race. Due to the length of the season, drivers are afforded two drop rounds.
Hundreds of pounds in Apex Racing Academy subscriptions are awarded to the top 3 in each driver division as well as the overall team champions! Driver champions get a trophy to remember their success by. Every round of the series is broadcast on Apex Racing TV’s YouTube channel live from the Apex Racing Esports Studio by Sam Fitzpatrick and David Sampson (Sampsoid)! They will be covering qualifying as well as the race(s) with their SDK Gaming overlay and live timing, 3D track maps and interview drivers post race.
